Description

In April 2018 Heritage Doncaster became an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation (NPO). History, Health and Happiness aims to tackle individual and community isolation in four key areas of Doncaster, using museum collections as its basis for outreach and community engagement activities. We strive to make participants feel more connected to others in their community, and have a greater understanding and pride in the place they live. Heritage Doncaster is seeking the design of a travelling museum. This travelling museum will take Heritage Doncaster's collections out in to communities but also enable community members to share their stories, memories and objects. The content of the exhibitions will be co-curated and co-designed by community groups. The travelling museum will work with both existing and Heritage Doncaster facilitated groups to co-curate the content of the exhibition. The content of the travelling museum will change regularly, making a flexible framework necessary.
