Description

A group of 33 Enfield primary and special schools would like to explore options for the delivery of Catering in their primary and special schools across two Lots, their main objectives are to maintain the quality of provision and breadth of menu along with value for money.

The contract start date is the 27th of May 2023 which coincides with the half term holidays, the first day of service will be Monday the 6th of June 2023. An accelerated process is being used and the tender documents will be restricted in size to support the bidders in the process. Many staff in the catering teams have LGPS pensions and the ability to gain Admitted Body Status with Enfield Pensions, or already having ABS status in Enfield or other London Boroughs, is advantageous.

The contract tenure is for an initial three-year period. There is an option for both parties to extend the contract for a further two years subject to client satisfaction and client agreement on budgets and service levels.

The schools are being tendered as two (2) Lots. Combined annual turnover for all of the schools is £3,084,723.

Lot one is 20 primary schools with an annual turnover of £2,334,300.
Lot two is 7 primary schools and 6 special schools with an annual turnover of £750,424.

The Clients are expecting a two-tier mobilisation:
A 'soft landing' in late May to ensure staff transfers are complete and the service start in June allows the teams to settle into the new menus, processes and systems.
A more detailed launch, including implementing any potential investment plans and more detailed marketing programmes as needed will be included within the ITT documents.
