Description

This proposal supports the delivery of the Long Term Plan Implementation Framework commitment to deliver a coproduced programme of work for all of the work in the CYP team. This relates to the voices of children and young people, who have learning disability or who are autistic, up to (and including) the age of 18. There are other fora for hearing the voices of children and young people over the age of 18 (and it is easier to involve them directly in our governance).

By commissioning a Strategic Children and Young People's Coproduction Partner for the CYP team in the Learning Disability and Autism Programme we can ensure that in our specific workstreams we are able to :
- Seek the views of children and young people up to and including the age of 18
- Hear from a range of children and young people reflecting age, ethnicity and complexity of language and communication needs
- Ensure these views inform our work and planning.

This partner will need to have the skills to support the voice of children and young people with learning disability and who are autistic, to have a proven track record in doing that and be able to work with the CYP Team to inform their work in a timely way. We will want them to support the development of policies and to help us show others what is possible in terms of working with children and young people through regional and local networks.
