Description
HSE's subject interests lie across all industries and include a diverse range of occupational health and safety topics for example: analytical chemistry, hazardous chemicals, electrical engineering, nuclear technology, construction, metallurgy, offshore technology, ergonomics, mining and quarrying, occupational hygiene, medicine, occupational safety and law. Fringe topics include accountancy, management and finance.
The use of standards supports HSE's business objectives across the full spectrum of its wide-ranging functions. IMU currently facilitate the provision of standards to HSE staff. These are primarily supplied in electronic format but can also be supplied as a hardcopy where requested.
American Petroleum Institute (API) standards represent an authoritative standards benchmark for the international oil and natural gas industry, demonstrating the extent to which risks can be practically reduced. They can also be employed as an effective means of influencing stakeholders to adopt safer and more efficient systems and designs.
