Description

The proposed works will comprise of civil maintenance repair works and the application of decorative / protective coatings to external and internal elevations of the lighthouse tower, and the adjoining quarterdeck.

More specifically, the main items of work are as follows:

•Erect site camp and establish welfare facilities.
•Set up site.
•Carry out remedial work to boat landing if required.
•Carry out remedial work to mass concrete stairway and handrails.
•De-veg and scale cliff face to remove all loose rock.
•Refurbish external timber doors and replace if required.
•Carry out internal plaster repairs as required.
•Prepare and redecorate the tower and quarterdeck externally.
•Prepare and redecorate the tower and quarterdeck internally.
•Fit light-room hatch cover.
•Dismantle site camp and welfare facilities.
•Prepare loads for site clearance by ship and helicopter and clear site.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. It is intended that a site visit will be conducted on 14th February 2017 for this project. Please note: as access to the site is by boat, sea conditions and other factors may dictate that the date of the site visit may have to be changed at short notice.
