Description

Young Carers - Advocacy

The Provider will deliver an advocacy service for young carers aged 5-18 in Sandwell. The provision will be expected to support young carers to achieve at school, have social opportunities and minimise the risk of young carers undertaking excessive, inappropriate and harmful care roles and also safeguard them against other risks such as CSE, exploitation, neglect, physical and emotional harm.

The Provider will be expected to raise awareness and co-ordinate a multi-agency approach to ensure young carers and their families are able to access the support they need.

Tenderers should note that, from 1 April 2018, provision of children's social care services is to be transferred from the Council to Sandwell Children's Social Care Trust ("The Trust"). It is anticipated that the Council will award the contract for this service on behalf of the trust and the contract will be entered into with Sandwell Children's Social Care Trust.
