Description
The delivery of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points contributes to the Councils' corporate objectives of reaching net zero by 2035. The ambition for London Borough of Hounslow is to become a cleaner, greener borough and to encourage and enable our residents, businesses, communities, and visitors to make more sustainable travel choices.
In light of this the council has ambitions to deliver over two thousand new EV charging points by March 2026. This will result in a significant increase of EV charge points from our current network of 408. This commitment is key to the council's Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy (2022-2026), which is also detailed in its Corporate Plan.
As a result, the council is now launching a tender to deliver the strategy and expand the existing charging network in the borough
