Description

Scope of works:
The scope of works under this contract includes the supply and installation of various types of insulation to Bromford's housing stock over the next three years. These various insulation measures are described below:

• Loft insulation (LI). This will take the form of full installations of new mineral wool loft insulation and the topping up of existing loft insulation to meet current regulations.

• Cavity wall insulation (CWI). This will involve the installation of white wool-based or bead insulation (reference the specifications included within this tender), to houses and flats. There will be a requirement for the extraction of existing failed insulation to a number of properties before the installation of new, as and when necessary.

• External wall insulation (EWI) with a mix of finishes to all elevations, to homes which are constructed with either a very narrow cavity or have solid walls.

• External wall insulation to Crosswall type homes.

• External wall insulation to homes with hanging tiled facades.

• Internal wall insulation, where EWI is not feasible.

Enabling work:

The enabling work will include, but not be limited to, removal of bellcasts and concrete window cills, temporary relocation of power cables and other services, roof modifications and replacement of soffits, fascia's, and guttering.

The removal of asbestos in order to facilitate the new insulation measures will not be required as part of the contract. Asbestos removal works will be carried out by Bromford's appointed specialist Asbestos removal contractors.

Bromford will also require that contractor/s employ the services of a gas engineer to isolate and recommission gas boilers/heating systems where works are being undertaken close to flues, in order to comply with the Bromford Gas safety process.

The Contractor's installation methodology shall be in strict accordance with the relevant system manufacturers written instructions. The contractor will commit to minimal disruption to customers, neighbours, and the Bromford project team during the works.
Additional costs will be incurred in order to achieve the required outcomes. These include, but are not limited to, asbestos surveys, the services of gas engineers to isolate gas heating systems during the works, and potentially the services of fire and security contractors to manage any detection systems installed within blocks of flats during the works, in compliance with Bromford's compliance procedures.

The potential supplier(s) are required to supply the works/services in accordance with all requirements as set out in the specifications, drawings and pricing schedule and all other information included in the tender, and in accordance with all current regulations and standards pertaining to this work.
