Description

All products supplied under the contract should conform to the requirements of all relevant legislation and industry standards.

Food safety is paramount. Suppliers must comply with the requirements of all relevant food safety legislation and relevant industry guidance.

• Suppliers must comply with the requirements of the UK food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 2006, Food Safety Act 1990(Amendment) Regulations 2004 and the General Food Regulations 2004(Amendment) Guidance and any other Food Legislation, to include recent allergen labelling and acrylamide mitigation regulations.
• Suppliers must undertake appropriate hazard/risk analysis, to control food safety for each part of the supply chain within their control and have up to date HACCP plans available for inspection.
• Premises must have in place an appropriate quality management and a quality control system that is reviewed regularly and is externally audited.
• All products supplied through this contract must meet all current UK and European Legislation pertaining to the production, supply and delivery of foodstuffs for human consumption.
• All products supplied through this contract must, as a minimum, adhere to the Food Quality Standards as detailed in the OGC(Office of Government Commerce) document entitled " A Fresh Approach to improving food procurement in the public sector. This is a food quality standards publication, last issued in Nov 2008 that aims to establish the minimum acceptable standard of products supplied within the contract and needs to be used in conjunction with this specification.
• Tenderers must be able to demonstrate full product trace-ability for all goods to be delivered under this contract.
• Pricing schedule to be fixed for 12 months and reviewed annually.
• Product labelling should meet legal requirements.
