Description

As part of the Family Hubs Transformation Programme, it has been agreed, through the Department for Education (DfE) approved delivery plan for Kent:
• To provide Parent Infant Relationships training and parent infant relationship training to the workforce.
• To explore the procurement of a provider to deliver a level 2 parent infant relationship intervention.
We aim to develop the family hub workforces understanding and knowledge of Attachment theory and parent infant relationship through training programmes which support the whole workforce to receive consistent messaging that develops their practice to improve interactions with families and signpost to Level 2 interventions.

In Kent, there is a significant number of staff who will require Attachment and Parent Infant Relationships (PIR) training across the joint workforces.
We would like to purchase training for a minimum of 235 delegates.
The Association for Infant Mental Health (AIMH) Competencies Framework AIMH IMHCF Framework includes raising the standards of care for families by supporting all staff to optimize their learning and skills. The Infant Mental Health Competency Framework (IMHCF) lists a number of competencies over three levels.

1) General knowledge and skills
2) Advanced knowledge and skills
3) The knowledge and skills required to supervise and manage

Kent County Council are looking for a provider who is expected to deliver Level 2 (Advanced Knowledge and Skills) Training on Parent Infant Relationships according to the AIMH Competencies Framework.
This training would be expected to include the 31 competencies in 5 domains (Domains 1-5) including:
Domain 1- relationship-based practice
Domain 2- normal and atypical development including attachment theory,
Domain 3- factors that influence caregiving,
Domain 4- assessment of caregiving (of the caregiver-infant relationship)
Domain 5- supporting Caregiving

This Parent Infant Relationships training is expected to be provided to a minimum of 235 delegates

These professionals would be expected to work autonomously with the parent-infant dyad, supported by supervision. It is expected that delegates would have already achieved Level 1 IMH training (in attachment/caregiver-infant relationships), which is delivered by a commissioned provider.

It is expected that delegates that complete the training would then work towards submitting a portfolio to enter onto the IMH Recognition register. Fees for registration not included in this quotation.

It is expected that the practitioners delivering the training would be registered on the AiMH UK IMH Recognition Register.
