Description

RES/EN Bristol City Council Sleeved Power Purchase Agreement 2021
Description:From July 2021 Bristol City Council will be looking to set up a Sleeved Power Purchase Agreement. This arrangement will allow power generated by the wind turbine to be directed (virtually) to nominated BCC sites. It is proposed to establish the sleeved PPA with initially just the council wind turbines and the half hourly sites, but the contract must have provision to expand both generation and demand. This could include: a. BCC half hourly sites (from July 2021) b. Avonmouth wind turbines BCC (from July 2021) c. BCC non half hourly sites (from December 2021) d. additional generation from Bristol Energy Co-op (tbc) e. additional generation from Ambition Community Energy in early 2022 f. options to add Avon Fire and Rescue Service, Schools Energy Club, and Highways Streetlighting In order to seek a wide range of potential bidders, it is proposed the sleeved PPA should be put to tender. The new contract is expected to run for 18 months, with an option for a one year extension. Overall contract costs for BCC half hourly and non-half hourly sites is expected to be up to £4.7M (£8.3M including extension), plus sleeving and balancing fees (tbc), but this expected be offset by savings from the sleeving arrangement.
