Description
Lot 1 - IT Professionals
Within the Environment Agency we have approx. 200 ICT Professional staff in Corporate Information Services (CIS). We have IT professionals in three hubs - Bristol, Warrington and Bridgwater. Within 2017/18 we are likely to merge with Defra ICT (DDTS - Defra Digital, Data and Technology Services).
This Lot is to provide learning resources for ICT staff, initially for CIS. We also expect other ICT teams within the Environment Agency to use this contract. In time, our Defra colleagues (currently c260) may need to use this contract, in addition.
The provider must be able to provide all learning resources for an ICT organisation, excluding those for the project profession (catered for through another contract). Some of these learning resources will be commercial off the shelf accredited courses, delivered accredited training professionals, with a track record of successful delivery to the public sector.
Lot 2 - IT Training for users (COTS and training in project deployments)
Within the Environment Agency we have approx. 10,000 staff. Approximately 9,000 use ICT. Whereas we have operational staff who would not use IT at all apart from through their team leaders, many do. These need the everyday skills in ICT - Microsoft Office 2013 at different levels and in bespoke systems, usually through projects (systems upgrades and deployments).
Initially this contract is to support the ICT requirements of users in the Environment Agency but going forward this contract may be used to support ICT requirements in Defra.
This requirement will have a Supplier Selection Stage, which must be completed in order to qualify for the ITT stage. Following the SSC stage, a maximum of 6 suppliers in each Lot will be issued an ITT.
