Description

Quotations are invited to undertake a program of works which primarily involves the desilting of historic mill pond, followed by further earth works to modify the banks of the leats which will connect the pool to the main river. This work needs to be completed and invoiced prior to the end of December 2nd 2016.

The Pikes Pool area in Redditch is a conservation area located to the eastern side of the River Arrow and to the south of the A4189. Historically the area was used for milling and a series of ponds and pools which fed mills are still evident on the site along with remains of other control infrastructure. Pikes pool itself forms one of these pools and it along with several others were disconnected from the main river arrow when the river was re-aligned by the development corporation in the 1960's.
