NHS Vale of York CCG is seeking to commission a Integrated Community Equipment Service and Community Wheelchair Service for its population and on behalf of a number of co-commissioners as outlined below (the combined population of all commissioning organisations is 800,000 plus) through a restricted procurement process. It is anticipated that all new services will be in place by December 2016. The services are divided into 2 lots and bidders can bid for one or both of the lots. NHS Vale of York is acting as lead commissioner for this procurement on behalf of:

Currently City of York Council are not party to this contract. However, dependant on their preferred future commissioning intentions, we reserve the right (subject to the agreement of all parties) to potentially add them as an additional associate at any point throughout the duration of this contract. This may lead to an increase in demand and activity of circa £700,000 per annum.

It should be noted that these are the expected parties to the contract at the time of issuing this MOI and may be subject to change.

We are looking for providers who can bring added value to the North Yorkshire Health and Social Care economy. The preferred bidder(s) will be required to demonstrate how they will deliver services in an environment of transforming health and social care provision as outlined in the NHS five year forward view and the Care Act 2014.

For both lots the provider(s) will be expected to work with commissioners to maximise the reuse and recycling of equipment and spare parts, including targeted clinically led projects to recover items that are no longer required.
