Description

FACT have purchased and old pub, old Springwell Inn, Gateshead NE9 7AB. The building is to be fully refurbished. This comprises an old stone building with extensive brick built additions. It is in an exposed position on the outskirts of Wrekenton Village. This former public house is to be converted and then used by the charity as a cancer support centre/ awareness & education centre/community venue for the surrounding community.
FACT has fundraised for several years in preparation for a suitable property and then awarded match funding through the Levelling Up grant scheme to help develop a community building for all. There are specific time constraints and a payment schedule supplied by the funder that needs to be adhered to.
