Description
The property consists of 2 small retail units on the ground floor with 3 residential units above.
The Council undertook the rebuilding of this property in 2015/16 due to the fact that it had suffered, and continued to suffer, extensive subsidence. This was to the extent that 154 was deemed as unsafe and that the remaining properties were close to being uninhabitable.
Unfortunately, the main contractor appointed to carry out the building works went into liquidation prior to the works being completed. In addition to this, it was subsequently identified that the works did not wholly conform with the planning permission in existence at that time.
The Council has since successfully applied for a new planning permission, to regularise the situation. It has also selected and appointed a Contract Administrator and a Project Manager to oversee the selection of a new contractor to complete the works.
