Description
The Council of the Borough of Kirklees is seeking Contractors with relevant experience and ability to demonstrate sufficient capacity for Providing Scaffolding including design, erection and dismantling for the Council under a proposed Framework Agreement. It is anticipated that the Framework Agreement is to commence on the 1st February 2016 and will expire on 31st January 2018 with the possibility of extending for a further twelve (12) month period. The majority of the Works will be to social housing, but the Framework Agreement will also cover Works to schools and other public buildings. In addition to the above Works the Council will also procure scaffolding for larger works by either negotiation with the successful Contractors or by seeking competitive tenders/quotations for these works. The Works comprise of two (2) Lots: (1) Independent Tube and Fitting; and (2) Lightweight Access Equipment. Lot 1 - Independent Tube and Fitting Scaffolding Much of the Works ordered will be constructed from Tube and Fittings, these will be classed a load bearing for general use. When placing a work order for the works the duly authorised Council officer will specify the use for which the scaffolding will be erected. Lot 2 - Light Duty Aluminium Towers and Access Equipment It is envisaged that a variety of internal and external repairs requiring access equipment can be fulfilled using light duty aluminium towers. Examples of such repairs might include: Installation of chimney flue liners; Removal of balanced flues for gas boilers; Repairs to chimneys; Minor roofing and repairs; Painting; Gutter clearing and repairs; Ceiling repairs; Internal and external lighting repairs.
