Description

CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF A PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS SERVICE TO DEFENCE MEDICAL REHABILITATION CENTRE

The Authority requires a clinical prosthetics and orthotics rehabilitation service to include assessment, clinical recommendation, provision and manufacture of prostheses and orthotic devices, maintenance and repairs and subject matter expertise.
This will require provision of the service at Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Stanford Hall for both in and outpatients with a broad spectrum of requirements.
DMRC Stanford Hall has a purpose-built Prosthetics and Orthotics department including clinical and workshop facilities.
The successful contractor will provide a high-quality service for patients to support them maximising their potential during their rehabilitation pathway within the MOD. This will require the team to fully embed within the multidisciplinary team, working with clinical and engineering colleagues.
As part of the tender process the Authority requires the opportunity to examine some example prostheses and orthoses.

The evaluation criterion for this requirement is detailed below.
Cyber Security: The MOD has a duty to protect itself from Cyber threats and now we extend this to Suppliers we engage with. As an extension of the Government's Cyber Essentials Scheme the MOD, working together with Industry and other Government Departments, have developed a more robust Cyber Security Model, under the umbrella of the Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP). All prime contractors must have the cyber security controls specified in DEF Stan 05-138 (Cyber Security for Defence Suppliers), as appropriate to the cyber risk level specified in the contract.
The Authority has determined the level of risk as High (Reference: RAR - J4VW3RZU) as defined in DEF Stan 05-138. In order to do business with the MOD you must have the cyber security controls required as shown above.
