Description

The works required under this Tender is the provision of gas extraction boreholes, leachate monitoring boreholes, gas monitoring boreholes and groundwater monitoring boreholes and their installation at Rowley Landfill Site, Off Queens Park Road, Burnley, BB10 3LB.
The site is a closed and restored non-hazardous landfill site which includes areas of both modern engineering and also older areas constructed under the principals of dilute and disperse. Capping of the site comprises areas of engineered shale and other areas with plastic membrane.
The County Council is inviting tenders on the terms set out in this ITT for the works described above and the Specification in Schedule One.

The contract for the provision of Boreholes at Rowley Landfill Site will commence on or around 05/10/2015, with works expected to begin as soon as practicable after this date. The works are required to be completed as soon as possible, ideally within 6-10 weeks of the contract start date. However due to the limited number of potential contractors specialising in this type of work, tenders are invited from applicants who may complete the works by no later than 31/01/2016.
The contract will provisionally end on or around 31/01/2016, or 4 months from the contract start date if the start date is delayed.
