Description

The councillors' digital connectivity workbook will expand on the following areas:

The importance of digital connectivity
•It will provide a broad introduction to the benefits of digital connectivity from the perspective of residents, business and local government.

A basic explainer on digital connectivity terminology and key policy issues.
•It will provide:
oA broadband explainer detailing elements such as the different types of infrastructure that can provide a connection;
oA mobile connectivity explainer detailing elements such as the causes of poor mobile signal;
oAn explanation of the role councils play in helping facilitate improved connectivity.

Practical advice on how councillors can discharge the roles outlined above
•It will provide:
oA case study capturing how a community self-funded its own broadband connection.
oA case study capturing how a council has worked well with mobile operators to extend mobile connectivity
oA case study on how a council has ensured its local policies can help catalyse greater digital connectivity.

•Relevant contact details for specific stakeholders such as mobile operators, broadband providers and the LGA (the LGA can help with this)

As a minimum, the supplier will be required to:
•deliver a final product by 25 March 2019.

The maximum amount available for this work is £8,000. Lower priced bids will be scored more favourably. Suppliers will need to set out what will be achieved for the price with a breakdown of how the budget will be spent
