Some of these groups use business radio to support health and safety and potentially lifesaving functions. The current service users includes Security, Estates Management IT Services, HAS, Accommodation Services, Potering and Cleaning as well as a number of independent small groups.
The objective of this tender process is to appoint a trusted integrator with the ability to source and supply, install and support two-way business radio hardware, software and cabling to deliver a robust and resilient communications system to The University of Birmingham (UOB). The University is looking to reduce costs and downtime for radio systems, ensuring that the infrastructure is fully-functioning, efficient and highly available for all service users.
The University wishes to procure business radio systems, and to form a strategic partnership with a trusted integrator and have the ability to purchase associated software/hardware, cabling, leaky feeder systems both above and below ground and associated professional services that will provide support and management for the infrastructure. Any solution proposed must take in to account the current environment for both above and below ground communicators.
