Description

The HEA requires assistance from suppliers to provide a full Intellectual Property service.


The HEA is purchasing the service in order to provide brand protection, exploitation of the HEA's IP as well as enforcement of IP rights against infringement. The HEA may require assistance in defending any allegations of IP infringement.



The HEA is looking for the Supplier to provide the following services:

1. Registration of the new HEA logo in 3 classes.
- The Supplier is expected to provide advice on potential registration of the HEA logo, words and logo/words combined in varying colour combinations.
- The Supplier will provide advice on whether the HEA would benefit from protection in other classes.

2. Registration of the new HEA logo:
- UK as a base application;
- CTM and countries in the Madrid Protocol (Australia, New Zealand, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, China, Egypt, Israel, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Oman, Russia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey, USA, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, European Commission)
- National Applications (Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, South Africa, Thailand).
- Advice on benefits and registration in further countries as and when required.

3. Maintenance and renewal of existing registered trademarks (x2 previous HEA logos and HEAR logo)
4. Reviewing, reporting and dealing with objections with TM applications.
5. Development of a copyright strategy.
6. Assistance with IP licence agreements.
7. Internet and Domain Name reporting.
8. Trademark Watching Service.
9. Dealing with disputes (enforcement and defence).
10. Provide a due diligence service on new product development and potential for IP protection/infringement.
11. Provision of a case study for services to a client within the HE sector to demonstrate experience.
12. Online client access to TM portfolio and relevant documents.
13. Regular reporting and updates.
