Description
Birmingham City Council (the Council) wishes to appoint an organisation experienced in the engagement and empowerment of residents in major regeneration schemes to establish and manage a group to effectively engage local residents in the Ladywood Estate Regeneration Initiative; to ensure the development of good quality well designed, sustainable, efficient, affordable and well managed housing and open spaces with a high community value in the Ladywood Estate Regeneration area.
The Council is in the process of a procurement exercise for a Development/Investment Partner through the Competitive Dialogue procedure who will work with the Council to regenerate the Ladywood Estate
The Ladywood Estate (the Estate) is located close to the city centre close to the major commercial, business and tourist areas of Westside and the City Centre Core; and adjacent to the Great Icknield housing growth area and the historic Jewellery Quarter. The Estate is predominately a 1960s residential neighbourhood with approximately 1000 units, two-thirds of which are in the Council ownership.
Engagement activities with residents will cover the procurement period for a Development/Investment Partner(s) for the Ladywood Estate Regeneration area and the generation of a masterplan for the development of the area.
This contract will be for a period of 3 years commencing in April 2020.
