Description

The Trust runs a private patient unit at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital site, consultants are responsible for their patients 24/7, however they are not always on site and the Trust therefore requires the services of an RMO 24/7 to provide first line medical cover.

The Maidstone Orthopaedic Unit is a self-contained ward and operating theatre requiring round the clock medical cover as an immediate response, supplemented by consultants on call from home out of hours.

The Trust has had difficulties in recent times, recruiting to a number of SHP/Middle grade F1 and F2 positions at its main sites in General Surgery. An RMO is therefore required to provide cover for General Surgery at night on the Maidstone Hospital site, as well as providing ad-hoc cover for ENT patients out of hours.
