Description

Thanet District Council (the Employer) are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified dredging Contractor/s to undertake hydrodynamic (as opposed to mechanical) maintenance water injection dredging within the Harbour Limits of the Port of Ramsgate, including the Royal Harbour.

This requirement is split into two lots:

Lot 1. The Royal Harbour, including the marina finger berths and fairways and the approach to the Royal Harbour from the Turning circle of the commercial port - 120m south westwards of the pierheads of the Royal Harbour. This is to be to a maximum target depth of -3.0m Chart datum.

Lot 2. The Turning Circle of the commercial port, the berths within the Turning Circle of the commercial port and up 250m eastwards of the breakwaters of the commercial port. This is to be to a maximum target depth of -7.5m Chart Datum.

Suppliers can bid for either Lot 1. or Lot 2. or both.

The Employer shall not guarantee any minimum quantity of work or number of dredging campaigns as a result of entering into this contract, as the volumes for each campaign will be derived through examination of Hydrographical Bathymetry Surveys for the Port of Ramsgate by the Employer, to maintain depths of water for safe navigation.

The Contract is anticipated to commence upon 1 June 2021 for a duration of four years, with an option to extend the contract by a further twelve months at the Employer's discretion, unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of the Contract.
