Description

The Council is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Contractor with demonstrable experience in managing bridge demolition works in similar environments. The successful tenderer must be able to demonstrate significant experience in the role of Main Contractor / Principal Contractor as the works require extensive pre-planning co-ordination beyond the actual task of the on-site demolition activity.Tenderers should note the bridge is located within the boundary of a World Heritage Site and has constrained access. The bridge spans the River Avon requiring access co-ordination and a working methodology acceptable to the Environment Agency (EA) and the Canals & Rivers Trust (CRT). In addition, the works will be the subject of a Natural England bat licence. Buro Happold have been appointed to undertake a feasibility study to consider the issues to be managed in the execution of the works.
