Description

ASC099 - Provision of an Independent Domestic Abuse Consultancy: Production of Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment; Strategy and proposed Implementation Plan for Sandwell

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council ("the Council") invites quotes subject to the attached Specification and Contract terms and conditions for the Provision of an Independent Domestic Abuse Consultancy: Production of Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment; Strategy and proposed Implementation Plan for Sandwell.

Sandwell has an established commitment to tackling domestic abuse. Our approach is based on a periodic assessment of need, emerging trends, best practice and local, regional and national priorities. Sandwell has an existing Domestic Abuse Needs assessment and 2017-2020 Strategy, and we are seeking a review and update to these and a proposed implementation plan for Sandwell.

We are seeking to commission a comprehensive assessment of Sandwell's response to Domestic abuse. The purpose of the assessment is to gather information about the needs of those who are resident in Sandwell and affected by domestic abuse. This will include victims and in accordance with the proposed statutory domestic abuse definition; will include children who see, hear or witness domestic abuse and those who perpetrate domestic abuse. Recognising that some individuals and families fleeing domestic abuse may come to Sandwell and similarly some of our residents may need to leave Sandwell to reside elsewhere.

We want the provider to work with Sandwell MBC and Sandwell Domestic Abuse Strategic Partnership to develop a local strategy that reflects the findings of the needs assessment and sets out our intentions for the period 2021 -2022 onwards.

The duration of the contract will be approximately from 29 March 2021 to 28 September 2021, but this may be subject to change, depending on completion and approval of the final report.
