Description

Chelmsford City Council is seeking to appoint a Contractor to provide planned preventative maintenance and cleaning of roof, guttering and associated rainwater goods at several Council premises located in Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers, Essex.

The Contractor will also be required to respond to reactive call outs for additional cleaning and minor repairs when required.

The Council wishes to enter into a contract for the provision of cyclical and reactive maintenance as per the details of this specification. This will be for a period of four years from 1st October 2017 with two possible one year extensions.

This Contract is expected to deliver well maintained and reliable building services support to Chelmsford City Council in delivering its corporate aims. The Council expects to work in conjunction with the Contractor therefore excellent communication with Premises Managers and the Building Services Team is essential.

Contractors are expected to carry out site visits during the tender period to familiarise themselves with the size and condition of the buildings. Visits are to be made by appointment only.

The Council will award work to a single Contractor however this will be a non-exclusive contract and work may be offered to third party where quotations are not deemed to be of best value to the Council.
