Description

The Commissioner will play a high profile role in a challenging political and delivery environment. They will bring their extensive and proven skills in children's social care transformation to challenge and support the senior leadership of the Council and its partners and to deliver a robust assessment as to whether the Council is making expected improvements to services for the most vulnerable children. In doing so they will maintain strong on-going relationships with the Council and partners in order to provide a robust, evidence-based report about progress in May 2017. Where expected progress has not been secured, the Commissioner would be required to revisit the question of whether children's social care services should remain in council control.
