Description
NHS North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) hereby invite suitably qualified service providers to submit tenders for the provision of Termination of Pregnancy Services in North East Essex.
The CCG recognises how important it is that our stakeholders are informed and engaged in respect of this service.
The successful Provider will be expected to manage the following aspects of Terminations of Pregnancy service:
- Terminations <24 weeks (unless excluded under this contract)
- Sexual Health advice, information and signposting Contraception and birth control (i.e. IUD)
- Any women who chooses not to be seen within an NHS trust for: *Evacuation of products of conception from uterus. Pathways and processes will be developed as part of the mobilisation period; *Miscarriage <10 weeks. Pathways and processes will be developed as part of the mobilisation period.
- Sexual health testing
- Chlamydia
- HIV testing.
The Provider will be responsible for ensuring that those referred into the service are put on the pathway as soon as possible, to ensure a timely outcome for the woman. This will include but will not be limited to:
- Providing a flexible, responsive and accessible service that gives women the widest opportunity to receive care within the care model of the provider.
- Offering services outside of 9-5 working hours, where it can be demonstrated by either the commissioner or provider it achieves the best outcomes for women
- Providing services locally within North East Essex within a minimum of 2 days assessment/operational days a week
- Offering services at the weekend, where it can be demonstrated by either the commissioner or provider it achieves the best outcomes for women
- Offering services in the most appropriate setting.

The contract term will be for an initial 60 months, with the option to extend by a further 24 months.
You are advised that the £3,853,442 value relates to the 7 years (5 years plus option to extend by 2 years). The maximum contract value for the 5 year contract is £2,709.770.
The services to which this process relates fall within Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended by The Public Procurement (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020) ("the Regulations"). As such, the CCG does not intend to hold itself bound by any of the Regulations, save those applicable to Schedule 3 Services.
