Description

The University of Southampton is looking for a company to procure, re-package, label, store & distribute a drug to 5 health care sites across England.

The requirement is for use in a multicentre double-blind randomised superiority trial to investigate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of spironolactone in the treatment of moderate-severe persistent acne in adult women compared to placebo, in addition to standard treatment.

The two equal arms are as follows:

o Oral spironolactone 50 mg/100mg once daily for 24 weeks plus standard care
o Placebo once daily for 24 weeks plus standard care
