Description

The Education and Skills Funding Agency requires a suitably experienced Contractor for the delivery of a double storey intermediate internal refurbishment consisting of limited adaptation works and the remodelling of external works to make the building appropriate for an Alternative Provision (AP) facility to enable it to be used as a permanent site. No temporary accommodation will be required.

The Contractor will be procured on a single stage design and build basis as the scheme has already been developed to a Stage 3 design. The existing building was constructed in 2008, the proposed works will include building refurbishment; external works including the construction of a MUGA, a playground, a canopy, other external play facilities and reconfiguration of parking facilities; and alterations to boundary treatments such as fencing. The target construction programme runs from Mid-December 2017 to end of April 2018.

A full planning application is being submitted in September 2017 by the employer's Technical Advisors. The Contractor will be expected to provide all required information to support the application determination process.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the following split: Qualitative assessment (50%) / Quantitative assessment (50%).
