Description

The University of Plymouth INdIGO project is seeking expressions of interest from potential suppliers for a polymer processing equipment which will finally be installed in the DigiFab (Digital Fabrication) laboratory in a newly-built New Engineering Design Facility (NEDF).

The system will provide teaching and research opportunities for processing waste plastics, particularly those recovered from the marine environment and the fishing industry, and collected waste from campus. This will allow lab-scale cleaning, shredding, granulating, extrusion to filament / pellets, injection moulding, sheet pressing and FDM / FGM 3D printing

Considerations will include cost, capacity, versatility, physical footprint, and circular economy procurement principles (long life and repairability, whole life cost, local procurement, refurbished / product as service models).

An approximate cost for this equipment should be included within your expression of interest to procurement@plymouth.ac.uk
