Description
Pupils in primary schools undertake National Curriculum assessments which are a series of education assessments used to assess the attainment of children in schools in England. They comprise of a mixture of teacher-led and test-based assessments depending on the age of the pupils and are undertaken at the end of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (statutory at KS2, optional at KS1). Hull City Council has a statutory duty to monitor assessments and to moderate a proportion of these assessments in order to confirm that the teacher assessment judgements are accurate and consistent with national standards. The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) is responsible for monitoring the Council's moderation process and scrutinises all Local Authorities to make sure their processes are robust and meet the statutory national requirements. Hull City Council require a Supplier that will deliver training to schools on how to undertake the assessments and will undertake all of the statutory monitoring external moderation duties for Year 1 Phonics, and Key Stage 2 Teacher Assessments on behalf of the Council.
