Description

The Thames Tideway Tunnel project (the Project) will control CSO discharges by intercepting & diverting combined sewage flows into a new storage & transfer tunnel. The main tunnel will run from Acton Storm Tanks in west London to Abbey Mills Pumping Station in the east, where it will connect to the Lee Tunnel, which will transfer the combined sewage to Beckton Sewage Treatment Works for treatment. The Project extends from Acton Storm Tanks in west London, to Abbey Mills Pumping Station in east London. The Project includes associated works at Beckton STW, Shad Thames Pumping Station & Bekesbourne Street.

The geographic layout of the Project & local authorities through which it passes is shown in Figure 1.
The Project comprises:
a. tunnels:
i. a main tunnel which will capture & store combined sewage from CSOs along its route & transfer it to Abbey Mills Pumping Station, from where the Lee Tunnel will transfer it for treatment at Beckton Sewage Treatment Works
ii. 11 connection tunnels, which will link flows from CSOs to the main tunnel.
b. Worksites:
i. five main tunnel Worksites (drive &/or reception sites)
ii. 16 CSO Worksites
iii. two System modification Worksites Thames Tideway Tunnel
iv. works at Beckton Sewage Treatment works.

Section 4: Scope of Works

BMB JV require an experienced Subcontractor to install high security gates and fence at Hammersmith Pumping Station Site (HAMPS). The security gates and fence will demarcate and protect the boundary between Fulham Reach Development and Thames Water. This will include the replacement of a vehicle gate and installation of a new pedestrian gate on Chancellor's Road boundary.

Attached are gate 4 drawings for the works, the successful Subcontractor will be required to produce fabrication drawings to gate 5 for approval by the Contractor.

The new fence is specified as high security proprietary Zaun Armaweave - refer to drg: '3320-AAJVX-TTWES-420-CR-DR-000106' for full specifications. The perimeter is highlighted in drg '3320-AAJVX-HAMPS-590-LZ-DR-000200 - Marked Up'.

The area will be cleared & filled to substrate level by BMB JV. The Subcontractor will be required to construct the foundations & install the gate as per 3320-AAJVX-HAMPS-590-LZ-DR-000200 & 3320-AAJVX-HAMPS-590-LZ-DR-000300.

Returned quotations will be evaluated by BMB JV's (BAM Nuttall, Morgan Sindall PLC & Balfour Beatty) Procurement team in conjunction with our design & engineering teams.
