Description

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) wish to commission 30 community beds (25 nursing and 5 Elderly Mentally Infirm - EMI beds) for all year round use (Lot 1), plus an additional 10 beds over the winter period (Lot 2). The intention is for the contract to start 1 July 2017 for Lot 1 and 1 October 2017 for Lot 2. The initial contract period will end 31 March 2018 with the option to extend for up to a further 24 months.

The service will be provided within a care home environment within the Wigan Borough. The beds must be CQC registered and supported by nursing and hotel services. The patients will be managed by a WWL team and will have clinician, therapist, pharmacist and community nursing input. The service aims to provide additional WWL bed capacity and facilitate the seamless transfer of patients from the acute Trust to a more appropriate level of care.

The service to which this procurement relates falls within the Light Touch Regime (LTR), Schedule 3, Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR).
