Description

RWM require provision of specialist training to develop Intelligent Client status for junior staff supporting development of the Operational Safety Case for the UK Geological Disposal Facility, a nationally significant infrastructure project. This project will be delivered under UK nuclear regulatory requirements and require working within a structured systems engineering approach. Specific aspects of the training programme need to be tailored to be compatible with other business demands. The general training requirements that need to be fulfilled are as detailed below.

• Training program leading to award of PGCert, with option to transfer to MSc program on completion
• Accredited by a professional institution to provide a route to Chartered Engineer status
• Has been delivered to previous cohorts of students from industrial/system safety professions
• Delivered in compact one-week blocks of contact time (to minimise travel and disruption to normal work)
• Learning objective: systems engineering and its application to safety
• Learning objective: management of safety case development and safety management systems
