Description

Specifications to supply and install play equipment.

Quotations shall be submitted either by email with 'Play Equipment Quote' in the subject line, or in writing in a sealed envelope, clearly marked 'Play Equipment Quote', by noon on 8.4.2024. Emailed quotes and those received by post will be opened at the same time on the prescribed date by the Clerk in the presence of at least one member of the council.

Installation works should commence in June 2024. Start date to be agreed.
All equipment must comply with RoSPA (or equivalent) requirements.

The Seller to provide the Buyer with:
• full legal name of the company supplying equipment
• full T&Cs that the companies propose
• full written version of the warranty to be provided
• quotation validity time
• full breakdown of cost for each item, not just a total
• does the contractor have a Quality System/member of an association?
• expected length of time for the works
• recommendations from recent clients

The Buyer is under no obligation to accept the lowest or any quotation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Equipment in wood:
1. Adventure structure with different levels including nets to support creative play and balance
2. Multi activity centre with a plastic slide and installation on to grass. To include for example low level and tower elements, clatter bridge, tyre hang, rock climber and fireman's pole. Access to be low enough for younger children
3. One wooden swing with a cradle seat
4. One wooden swing with a basket seat
5. Two wooden swings with flat seats
6. One or two sit on springy mobiles (not wood)

Markings:
1. Lay thermographic on tarmac on the right-hand side of the basketball goal area:
Snakes and ladder game with secured dice
Hopscotch
2. Basketball and football lines in front of the existing basketball structure
3. Add a lower basketball net to the existing structure

Surfacing:
The surface for most of the equipment is grass and will need recycled rubber mulch under and around the play equipment to the appropriate safety standards.

BEFORE WORK COMMENCES THE COUNCIL WILL:
• ensure the site is mown before the contractor comes on site
• provide notices to inform residents of the closure of the playing field whilst the work is being undertaken
• arrange access through a farm gate further up Rodbourne Road on the left just after the houses. Access to the playing field from the farmer's field will be as shown on the site plan.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The contractor will:
• provide welfare facilities on site (eg Portaloo)
• provide secure storage on site
• provide health and safety fencing
• keep the site clean and tidy during works and on completion
• at all times act in a responsible way and keep disturbance for residents to a minimum. Working hours only between 0800 and 1800 weekdays
• assure the buyer, in writing, that it has the necessary health and safety policies and procedures in place before commencing work
• supply the buyer with evidence that it has all necessary insurances (including public liability and professional indemnity)
• take down the fence by the gate and reinstate on completion

FOLLOWING INSTALLATION:
• the Buyer and Seller will inspect the site to ensure work has been completed to a satisfactory standard
• the Seller will provide guarantees/warranties for all work and equipment
• the Buyer will pay valid undisputed invoices within 30 days of completion and successful handover
