Description

This Invitation to Tender covers a period of research and reporting on the current status of disabled people in heritage - across jobs and careers, volunteering, and participation and visiting. Tenderers should reach out to a wide range of people through focus groups, individual interviews, and other established research methodologies, and record their experiences and views. This should form the basis of qualitative and quantitative evidence that can influence Historic England strategy and action planning on disability inclusion in the sector. Tenderers should have experience in working with disabled people, across the diversity of people this represents, and to work with them in an informed, ethical, equitable manner. As part of the research process, the tenderer should speak to;
- Disabled people currently working, volunteering, and visiting / participating in heritage
- Disabled people not currently working, volunteering, and visiting / participating in heritage
- Disabled people who have left the sector due to their experiences
- Disabled students on heritage based courses or those studying disability culture, history, heritage or access
- Organisations led by, representing, and working with disabled people
