Description
Nottinghamshire County Council are seeking to appoint a provider that will develop two short, animated training films of up to 10 minutes each on self-harm awareness and suicide bereavement based on a script developed by the commissioners with professional advice from the provider. The film will cover the learning outcomes outlined below and be easily accessible for residents and professionals living or working in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire via the suicide prevention and self-harm awareness pages of the Nottinghamshire County Council website and any other websites as agreed by the commissioners.
The film will aim to:
- Provide entry-level, foundational knowledge and awareness of the topics of self-harm and suicide bereavement.
- Provide an awareness of the magnitude in the local context (including prevalence numbers and statistics)
- Understand and reduce the stigma and discrimination (including the role of language in perpetuating stigma)
- Increase knowledge of types of support and where to access information on local services.
- Support individuals to recognise and understand their own emotions.
- Empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to support their own mental wellbeing as well as others.
- Increase confidence of individuals to initiate conversations on self-harm and bereavement by suicide and to ask for help.
- Understand the links between mental health, self-harm and suicide.
