Description
The contractor is invited to tender for alterations and extension to The Guildhall, Street- An-Pol, St Ives (Cornwall) on behalf of St Ives Town Council. The altered and extended area serves the historic 1930s concert hall and will contain male, female and disabled WCs and a ticket office. The tender is to be prepared in accordance with the specifications, drawings and details contained within this tender document package.
Works will include the following:
(i) Site preparation and partial demolition of the existing link building between St Ives Guildhall and the neighbouring former Vicarage. Existing cast concrete roof structure to be retained.
(ii) Japanese Knotweed remediation at the rear of the site, to include excavation of soil and provision of root barrier and encapsulation membrane.
(iii) Specialist installation of ODEX rock anchor type piled foundation with reinforced ground beams.
(iv) Alterations to underground drainage systems
(v) Mixed timber frame and masonry construction of new WC block and ticket office.
(vi) Provision of timber flat roof structure to extension and installation of single ply rubber roof coverings over new and existing flat roof structures.
(vii) Installation of roof lights to WCs and external window to ticket office.
(viii) Internal finishing including provision of sanitary fittings and services.
