Description

LS (659744) Opportunity for a provider to work with Durham for a bespoke residential children's home.

Age: 11years 1month

Gender: Male

Current Placement: Solo assessment placement

Geographical location required: Any location in the UK will be considered.

Preferred location is in County Durham or as close to County Durham as possible.

Needs and presentation:
L is an amazing 11-year-old little boy who is full of energy and loves to be active outdoors. When feeling safe and calm, L is also able to spend time participating in gentler indoor activities such as doing jigsaws, building with lego, and colouring.

L has suffered severe developmental trauma and he now has major attachment difficulties. L also has a diagnosis of ADHD and shows high levels of autistic traits.

L currently needs two-to-one staffing support. He is always 'on the go' and requires constant adult attention due to his attachment difficulties. On occasion, when he is most distressed and heightened, L can display violent behaviours. This is not necessarily a frequent occurrence - L can have a number of positive days, and indeed weeks, in a row. However, when incidents of L displaying violent behaviours do occur, such incidents can be intense and severe.

L needs the highest possible levels of trauma-informed and therapeutic care.
