Description
Formaldehyde vapour is the recognised and biocidal agent and therefore often used in Fumigation process. However, due to Formaldehyde toxicity and its status as a known carcinogen a need for reliable neutralising system was identified as an urgent safety measure.
The Formalin Vaporiser and Neutraliser Systems must be:
- Suitable for MBSC: I, II and III - different proposal for each type is acceptable
- slim enough to fit through a typical 200mm high safety cabinet open front
- Use a new canister of carbon for each fumigation
- use maximum of 30ml of Formaldehyde per MBSC
- Meet Fumigation Standards: ISBN 0 7176 2034 4 & BS EN 12469:2000
Please note that PHE is NOT looking for other methods of fumigation or different fumigants as a part of this opportunity.
If you feel that you can meet the above requirements or would like more information, then please email anna.gibson@phe.gov.uk.
