Description

In 2020 a research and analysis report 'BEIS ICF Mitigation Investment Options' was completed to provide the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) with robust evidence to feed into the strategic approach to deploying UK International Climate Finance (ICF) in support of global climate mitigation. It assessed 15 mitigation areas in depth using set criteria and across target countries using a combination of an integrated assessment model (IMAGE), literature assessment, expert review and workshops. This fed into the BEIS ICF umbrella business case for ICF 3 and has also been used by ICF programmes to help inform programming decisions.

The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) is responsible for this portfolio following the machinery of government change in February 2023. DESNZ wishes to commission a project to review the previous Mitigation Options Research and underlying analysis, and update it with the latest robust, quantitative and qualitative analysis which can be used to identify opportunities where there is a clear role for UK Aid specifically and to directly support ICF mitigation strategy development.

We are hosting an online early market engagement event on the 26th January 2024 from 11:00-12:00 GMT. If you wish to attend this event, please complete the form here:
