Description

Bristol City council wishes to procure a Contract to undertake the replacement of Night storage heaters to Bristol City Councils housing stock.
The duration of the contract will be for 1 year with the option to extend for up to a further 1 year, subject to agreement with the Council and the provider. The anticipated value of the contract is £600,000-£700,000 per annum
Works will comprise of removal of existing Night Storage Heaters and replace with new as specified throughout this document. The contractor will be asked to submit a price for each itemised set of rates provided in the pricing document, appendix 3 (Separate Document). There may be a requirement to rewire part or all of the electrical installation, however this is not the primary purpose of the Contract. Rewiring will be measured separately but there is a separate schedule of rate if necessary to utilise.
Bristol City Council will survey each property to calculate heater size and type per room, as well as assess the existing electrical installation for any amendments or upgrades as required. BCC will issue orders with populated SOR's for works anticipated within individual properties. Additional works will still be required to be added to the individual invoice using the correct SOR's and agreed with Contract administrator.
Surveyed addresses will be issued on a regular basis, as required, with contact details of the tenant. The contractor will be responsible for arranging their own appointments. The contractor will attempt to access the property 3 times, via arranged appointment, phone call and letter. If no access is gained, the contractor will inform Bristol City Council s contract administrator via email. BCC will engage with support from stakeholders to help gain access for hard to access properties. Only once 90% of the entire block is complete will the next work phase be issued to ensure highest programme penetration into the block is achieved.
