Description

A Concession Contract is to be advertised for a partner to Enable Wireless Next Generation Access for the Borough of Southend-on-Sea. The Invitation To Tender (ITT) is due to be published during w/c 7th September 2015.

The contract will allow for access to council owned infrastructure for a partner under a concession to invest in the design, implementation, and operation of a high capacity innovative commercial wireless network which will potentially deliver open space wifi hotspot / coverage as well as enhancing 3G and future 4G coverage within the Borough.

The purpose of the information day event is to inform interested parties of the vision of the Council and its partners for achieving a wireless digital platform within the Borough. A particular focus will be on the enabling role of the local authority in utilising the Council's assets, attracting investment and supporting the delivery of a wireless network or networks. The presentation of this vision and opportunity is designed to encourage interested parties to consider the Borough of Southend-on-Sea as a place to invest, to work with the local authority and to respond to the ITT.
