Description
L&Q's Future Shape Corporate strategy 2021-2026 sets out its business priorities for the next 5 years, and establishes an ambition of 'operational excellence', which we have defined as the delivery of reliable, repeatable, and consistent products and services. Within this context, the strategy sets out three core priorities for the five-year period of the strategy, which are;
To support the delivery of our strategic objectives, L&Q has set out its high-level target operating model blueprint and design principles, as well as established a sizeable portfolio of transformation and change. This is comprised of a strategic Transformation Programme, and a series of Change Projects that aim to deliver critical, tactical changes across the business, in lieu of the outcomes of the Transformation Programme. In addition, underpinning all of that, we seek to realise ongoing opportunities and efficiencies through continuous improvement of our business processes and ways of working.
The Transformation Programme is an ambitious and complex multi-year programme and is the main enabler for delivering our target operating model. It is split in to four core streams, with associated aims and objectives.
1. Transform the way we work - completing service design reviews to identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate operations, maximising the benefits of new systems, which will support the implementation of reliable and repeatable processes.
2. Transform the tools we use - procuring and implementing a single integrated platform of technologies (starting with housing management and finance solutions) which support the design and delivery of intuitive end-to-end business processes, while rationalising the technology estate, informed by a new technology roadmap (see Figure 1).
3. Transform how data is utilised - designing a coherent and comprehensive data architecture which will be embedded through the implementation of new systems. Improving how information flows across the business, and resetting our approach and expectations around capturing, handling and storing data, enhance operational visibility for colleagues and enable accurate and reliable information for customers.
4. Transform how our tools interconnect - transition L&Q away from clunky point-to-point systems interfaces, implementing an enterprise-based integration layer, providing a more agile technology estate that is better equipped to respond to the pace of technology change.
The Programme is designed to deliver incremental transformation over a sustained period. This has the advantage of mitigating delivery risk, enhancing control (better able to slow / accelerate delivery in response to changing organisational priorities), and spreading cost.
