Brief description:
The Building Surveying Team within Asset Management & Maintenance is responsible for providing a wide range of Building Surveying activities across the Council's Housing Stock and we are seeking interim support to assist with a range of inspection & surveying activities.

The role of the Assistant Building Surveyor includes the following activities:

o Planned Inspections - routine repairs inspections, scheduling works & requisitioning of materials.
o Building surveying and production of work schedules for:
o Housing Disrepair Surveys & Reports
o Stock condition surveys
o Shared cost works to party walls & party boundaries.
o Routine repair inspection
o Damp surveys
o Asbestos surveying, sampling & report writing.
o Domestic Energy Assessment to produce Energy Performance Certificates.

We want to be brilliant at the basics with a focus on delivering an excellent service to our customers. You will be expected to demonstrate that you can work across a diverse range of surveying disciplines, have a flexible and reliable approach to work timescale and deadlines and a positive attitude to change & continuous improvement. We need particular support with Planned Inspections, Damp & Mould surveys and Housing Disrepair Surveys, so would encourage candidates who have good experience in these areas to apply.

The post holder must possess a minimum HNC in Building Studies or equivalent and have at least 2 years post qualification experience in a Building Surveying role.
