Description

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office ("the Authority") is the UK's agency providing hydrographic and geospatial data to mariners and maritime organisations across the world. Supplying defence and the commercial shipping industry, the Authority helps ensure Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), protecting the marine environment and supporting the efficiency of global trade.
Key products that the Authority provides, helping ensure SOLAS, are the digital chart services - ADMIRALTY Vector Chart Service (AVCS) and ADMIRALTY Raster Chart Service (ARCS) as well as ADMIRALTY Digital Publications (ADP).
The Authority distributes updates to these digital charts and publications on weekly CDs and DVDs as well as other electronic means. The discs are supplied in a biodegradable paper envelope for protection.
