Description

Historic England wants to collect reliable statistics for the numbers of staff employed by local authorities in heritage planning and conservation roles, including both the historic built and archaeological roles. This brief is for the work to collect those statistics on an annual basis for 2019 to 2024. This is the period covered by major government investment in heritage through the Heritage High Streets programme. The figures collected will contribute to assessing the impact of that funding.
